I attended the Peace Corps staging event all day today in Washington DC. It moved along faster than I was led to believe it would. Our group is actually 58 total and essentially half and half Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Community Health Education (CHE) volunteers. I am in the CHE group. After a lot of meet and greet, introductory information, and education on Peace Corps and its expectations, I learned we will be departing for Cambodia ion the morning, July 13, 2012.

That is fine with me. I am ready and excited to go. Now I just need to get through the 23+ hours of flying to Bangkok, Thailand, an over night lay-over there, and another hour on to Phnom Penh in Cambodia the next morning. Then I will begin my training.

It was confirmed that there will be very limited internet access for me during training and probably even less once I am posted in my community of service. So posting may be slow, but I will post as often as I can.
