Check out this really cool vintage advertisement video for the classic Polaroid SX70 camera. Back in January 2009 I posted about Polaroid abandoning its instant film line. In April 2010 I found out Polaroid Film is Back From the Dead as the Impossible Project unveiled its new PX100 and PX600 instant B&W films for Polaroid cameras making it possible to continue working with the instant film medium.
The video is 11 minutes long, but worth the watch for both it’s classic vintage-ness as well as for the really cool insight into how the camera and the Polaroid process works. It’s fascinating to see how Polaroid made picture taking so simple and put it in the hands of everyone, no knowledge of photography required. Yet the SX70 camera is actually quite complex.
