This morning, April 22nd, 2009 I woke early and headed out to photograph an occultation of the planet Venus by the Moon. It was quite an event if you are into astronomy.
What is an occultation of Venus by the Moon? An occultation is the passage of one celestial body in front of another, thus hiding the other from view. In this case the waning crescent Moon passes in front of the brilliant crescent Venus.
